HERE'S WHERE IT ALL BEGAN...

In a little village called Kentfield lived an elderly noble man, whose villagers were loyal to him and none other. One day, the old nobleman fell deathly ill, and called for his granddaughter from the city to come and live with him during his last days. Right before he died, the nobleman explained to his granddaughter that he wanted her to take over the village, and continue the family tradition. Unfortunately for the granddaughter, once the villagers learned of the nobleman's death, they all packed up and left, leaving her all alone in an empty farming village, with no one to tend to the crops.

The granddaughter called upon a friend from her school in the city to help her solve her dilemma, and together they began to spread pleas for help. Many surrounding towns have her request posted in their taverns, and it reads as follows:

"Hello, stranger. My name is Nadia Kent, and I am a small noble that owns a farming village dubbed Kentfield, a few days travel East of the city of Tannel. Our land is ideal for growing crops, however due to a recent event, all of my farmers have left me. I ask the willing to come live with me and my friend here in Kentfield, and work in our fields. Payment will be given, of course, and I have a decent number of homes ready to hold fresh faces. With each passing day it becomes more difficult to maintain the crops alone. Please, if you are able, I am in need of dire aide as soon as possible. I look forward to your arrival,

-NK"

ARRIVAL

Once you arrive in the village of Kentfield, passing vast expanses of dying farmland, you find only a few buildings: some worn-down homes, a rugged-looking manor, and an inn with a very faint sign hanging outside its front door, marking it as the "Belly-Up Dragon" inn. Seeing as the inn, which seems to also double as a run-down tavern, is the most logical place to go, you enter, hearing a slight jingle accompanied by a loud creaking sound as the door resists being moved. "Welcome," you hear a gruff, female voice say, but upon looking around, all you can spy is a tan cat perched on the bar counter. Before you can say anything, a woman jumps up behind the counter, appearing to be naught but a child- upon closer inspection, you see the pointed ears of a magi. "Right here," she says. "Ye must be 'ere fer tae request, aye?" You nod, or agree in whatever way your character might. "Good," she nods back, "Just a moment." She disappears beneath the counter again, reappearing moments later with a parchment, and a quill and ink. "Fill out this 'ere form so we can register ya as a member of Kentfield, an' send it off to tae king." The cat meows loudly, and with what you make out to be a scowl, the woman mutters, "Please."
